The wait is over, and the Multiverse is about to collide. A new teaser for Avengers: Doomsday has begun circulating, confirming what fans have theorized for years: the X-Men will not only be part of the Multiverse Saga’s conclusion but will play a central, devastating role.

The video offers the first concrete glimpse of the integration of the classic Fox-era mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), suggesting a tone far darker and more definitive than previous cameos.

The Chessboard: Xavier vs. Magneto

The preview leans heavily on nostalgia and atmospheric tension. We see the empty, gloomy corridors of the X-Mansion, culminating in the iconic image of Charles Xavier’s wheelchair. The highlight is the return of legends: Patrick Stewart (Professor X) and Ian McKellen (Magneto).

The described scene shows the two playing chess—a classic visual callback to the original films—but the dialogue suggests the end of times. Magneto’s line, “Death comes for us all. The question isn’t whether you’re ready to die, but who you will be when you close your eyes,” indicates that the film will deal with lethal consequences for heroes from different realities.

An Unprecedented Multiversal Cast

In addition to the return of James Marsden as Cyclops (seen removing his glasses in a moment of fury), the cast listed for this production is possibly the largest in cinema history. The premise suggests that Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will be the threat that forces the union of Avengers (new and old) with the Mutants.

The cast list confirms a blending of generations, bringing back icons like Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and Channing Tatum (Gambit), alongside current MCU heavyweights like Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), and Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova).
