Just a few months ago, analysts were predicting Apple’s demise in China in the face of local patriotism and the resurgence of Huawei and Xiaomi. Today, those analysts are silent. Recent data reveals that the iPhone 17 line didn’t just survive the Chinese market; it completely dominated it, pulling off a commercial massacre in its competitors’ own backyard.
According to renowned leaker Ice Universe, as of December 31st, Apple sold a staggering 15.57 million units of the iPhone 17 family in China.
5 Times Bigger Than Xiaomi
To put that in perspective: the iPhone 17 sold 5.5 times more than the runner-up, the Xiaomi 17 line. The most shocking stat, however, is that Apple’s sales volume surpassed the sum of all other Chinese flagship smartphones combined.
This performance validates predictions by Counterpoint Research, which had already indicated a 10% growth for Apple in 2025, securing the company nearly 20% of the global market. Tim Cook promised to break records, and the numbers show that, even in hostile territory, the Apple remains untouchable.
